A STORY ABOUT SLOW FASHION
Designs by Jennifer Fletcher goes against the throw-out culture and low quality clothing that we are influenced to buy through the constant new and short-lived trends. That is handmade slow fashion with a design that has a long life.
There is value in owning clothes that you love for a long time and that provide easy styling, with other things that you already own. This creates a long-lasting and unique wardrobe that can be styled in several ways and used for multiple events.
All designs in the shop are made in a limited number, to preserve the uniqueness and because handmade clothes take time and love to create.
New designs are published on the social platforms and here on the website. Sold-out styles do not reappear in the same fabric.
WHAT IS SLOW FASHION?
Slow fashion is, in short, the opposite of fast fashion . Slow fashion draws attention to the process and the resources required to make clothes. It is about us, instead of buying large quantities of cheap clothes in low quality, buying selected more expensive clothes, in high quality. It slows down over-consumption and instead focuses on cuts, trends and designs that are long-lasting.
When the material is sustainable, GOTS-certified organic material is used, which makes the whole process completely sustainable. When the material is not sustainable, the slow fashion principles arise through my part of the production; which is sewn under safe and controlled conditions in my own sewing studio.
